Tasha Cobbs‘ sophomore album, One Place Live, recorded at Redemption Center Church in Greenville, S.C., opens atop Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart (dated Sept. 12), with 13,000 sold in the week ending Aug. 27, according to Nielsen Music.
Tasha Cobbs said to Billboard that her new songs have defined her personal journey…
“One Place Live is a compilation of songs that helped me through some of the best and worst seasons of my life, I am excited to know that these songs are helping so many others around the globe.”
Additionally, her album Grace EP is 11th on the chart, that means she is #1 on the top 10 and top 20. Also, One Place Live debuts at #28 on the Billboard Top-200 and, with 480,000 detected streams, is the most streamed Gospel album so far this year.
The set marks the strongest sales week yet in the worship leader’s young career. Her first, 2014’s Grace EP, launched at No. 2 in its first week (Feb. 23, 2014) with a 9,000-unit tally; it went on to spend two weeks at No. 1. Place boasts the third-highest unit sum on Top Gospel Albums so far in 2015.
