Bible News: Birth Pangs – Don’t Abort Your Baby

“For patience is necessary -so that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” – Heb 10:36

Joel Osteen gave an illustration of a pregnant deer. He spoke about how in the wild, the lion stalk the pregnant deer for months till the day the deer is ready to deliver. As soon as the deer goes into labour, the lion realizing it is in its most vulnerable state launches an attack on the deer to kill both mother and baby.

The thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10). I hope someone does not see me as a “kill-joy” but I speak the truth when I say the reason why it feels like you are the only one in the world dealing with the issues you are dealing with and no one else has it worst is because the enemy knows you are carrying a dream inside you and he his stalking you to attack the dream at every chance given, just like the lion stalk the deer till it was vulnerable.

Many people have aborted their baby – their dream – before they get the chance to deliver it because they gave in to their vulnerability and the enemy seized the opportunity. This is the same reason why we become disobedient and sin, when we are no longer fully persuaded about what we believe.

It becomes darkest just before morning. Same is true for our Lord Jesus who prayed more earnestly just before He was led to be crucified. Those hours must have felt hopeless for those who had believed His ministry but those hours brought the ultimate victory!

When you start to feel the pressure more, when the odds seems so stacked against you. It is time to hold fast your confession of faith to the end of the matter (Heb 10:23) because the time of delivery is just around the corner and giving in to the pressure at this point is tantamount to destroying a whole process all together. There is no telling how much one may have opened the door of one’s heart to the enemy. Hence, the bible says “Like a city that is broken into and without walls Is a man who has no control over his spirit.” (Prov 25:28)
