Bible News: Grace Through The Knowledge Of God

0

The grace of God took the judgement we deserve and replace with the mercy we don’t.

Growing up I always hear people talk about how they are blessed, graced and so on and I think to myself God’s favour is upon that fellow in an extraordinary way which must be unattainable to me.

The truth of the knowledge of God will however be the undoing of such erroneous belief. It is comforting to know I too have become a partaker of multiplied grace of God through His knowledge.

Peter prayed:

“May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord”. (2 Pet 1:2)

We see Peter praying a prayer of what is obtainable through the knowledge of God. That is, we can multiply the grace of God and find peace, the type that Jesus promised by getting to know God more intimately.

This wasn’t just mere words from Peter. They are founded in the truth that just like this great apostle whose works someone like my old self would have looked to for someone qualify enough for the multiplied grace and peace, we are also qualified having obtained an EQUAL standing through the work of righteousness of Jesus Christ.

Thus, Peter addresses us saying:

“To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. – 2 Pet 1:1

So as much as Peter may have “looked big” due to the works, as much as your pastor may look “spiritually imposing” while you feel like just another believer waiting for the pastor to lay hands on him before he can believe God would answer his prayer, Peter makes us realise that we are all of EQUAL standing and therefore can enjoy multiplied grace and peace of God by getting to know God more.

So how do we get to know God? He has inspired his servants to put into writings His faces/phases so by spending time with the word of God, we open ourselves to the knowledge of Him. Hence, the righteousness of God His revealed in us from faith to faith. Those things which have been written are for our example so that we may receive instructions on how to deal with corresponding situations. As we demonstrate His knowledge, we release ourselves to the possibilities that could have only been obtained through grace!
