Pastor Adeboye Meets Buhari Amidst CAMA Controversy
President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has met with senior pastor of RCCG Pastor Enoch Adeboye amidst Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) controversy.
The man of God who had earlier rejected the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari and also made it clear that his position was in line with the stance of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
He was received at the presidential villa in Abuja by President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari.
Adeboye’s visit comes amidst the controversy generated by the newly signed CAMA law that enables the Federal government to remove and replace the board of trustees of any church. While some clergymen have thrown their weight behind the new law, others like Bishop David Oyedepo and Apostle Suleman have come out to strongly oppose it.
However the full details of the meeting is yet to be disclosed, although, it is believed to have something to do with the CAMA bill that has led to outburst and anger among the Christian community.
As expected the “Adeboye Meets Buhari” episode has already started stirring with varying opinions on social media. But let’s keep the focus as focus.
