– Government Proposed Naira Redesign – Adeboye Reacts
General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye joins thousands of concerned Nigerians in calling out the government on the proposed redesign of the naira.
This came just days after the federal government announced the proposed redesign of the country’s 200, 500, and 1,000 Naira banknotes in the bid to check mate money hoarders and corruption.
In his sermon during the church’s November Holy Ghost Service, themed, ‘Let It Rain’, Adeboye lamented that the Naira is not worth the paper it is being printed on yet those in-charge want to beautify it.
The man of God also questioned the priority of the leaders over the decision when people are hungry and looking for money.
He said, “Do you know what is going on in our country? It doesn’t make sense anymore. Our Naira now, it is not even worth the paper it is printed on.

“And while people are hungry, trying to find enough money to buy bread to eat, our bosses are thinking of making the Naira more beautiful.
“We have problems in the land now. Things seem to be getting funnier and funnier. If you don’t learn to laugh in Nigeria now, you will develop hypertension.”
The new currency is expected to be in circulation starting from Dec 15th 2022, while existing Naira notes will remain legal tender until January 2023.
