– Salvation Army Pastors’ Death in Autocrash Causes stirs
President of the Senate of Nigerian, Godswill Akpabio, alongside Labour party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi mourn Salvation army pastors who died in an auto crash.
According to reports, it was said that 12 pastors, a baby and a driver were killed in an auto crash that occurred on the bridge across Ovia River, close to Benin City, Edo State, when a Dangote truck rammed into a 14 seater bus conveying the pastors last Thursday, June 29.
In a statement made by the President of Senate, he said;
“The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, received with great shock, news of the death of members of this great commission in a fatal road accident around Ovia Bridge, near Benin-City, which killed 12 officers of the church and a baby, while returning from a missionary assignment in Lagos State.
“I commiserate with the Territorial Commander, Commissioner Daniel Kasuso. I pray for repose of the souls of the departed faithful. I pray that God grants those they left behind the fortitude to bear this great loss.”

Reacting to the accident, Peter Obi commiserated with the bereaved families and the Salvation Army Ministry.
“I received with shock the heartwrenching report of a fatal road accident involving members of the Salvation Army. “I pray for the quick recovery of the injured. May God grant eternal rest to the dead”, he wrote.
