– Charles Soludo To Track Fake Pastors – Calls For Citizens Support
Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has called on residents to support his administration’s ongoing campaign to track fake pastors and religious leaders exploiting members of the public.
The governor said the fight against fake native doctors and other fraudulent spiritual practitioners has now been extended to include fake pastors, bishops, and self-acclaimed miracle workers who allegedly deceive people through staged signs, wonders, and false promises.
According to Soludo, the government remains committed to sanitising the state and protecting residents from individuals who use religion as a cover for criminal activities and financial exploitation.

He urged citizens to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending those involved in fraudulent religious practices, stressing that the campaign is not targeted at genuine men and women of God.
The governor maintained that the objective of the exercise is to restore public confidence and ensure that religion is not used as a tool for manipulation, deception, or the promotion of unlawful activities.
His appeal comes amid the state government’s intensified enforcement efforts against individuals accused of engaging in fake miracle performances and other forms of religious exploitation. Authorities have also reiterated that anyone found violating relevant laws would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Soludo emphasized that the success of the campaign depends largely on the cooperation of residents, community leaders, and religious organisations, noting that government alone cannot effectively tackle the challenge.
