– Pastor Enoch Adeboye Speaks On Kidnapping And Insecurity In Nigeria
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, speaks on the ongoing insecurity situation in Nigeria, lamenting that terrorism and kidnapping, once largely associated with the northern part of the country, have now spread to the South.
Speaking at a gathering in Washington, D.C., the cleric said the nation’s security challenges have deteriorated significantly, adding that the menace has become a personal concern. According to him, terrorism and kidnapping are no longer distant problems, stressing that they have now reached “his doorstep.”
Adeboye also alleged that individuals sponsoring terrorist activities are known but continue to move about freely. He urged authorities to go beyond confronting armed groups and focus on identifying and prosecuting those financing and supplying them with weapons.

The respected preacher maintained that tackling the sponsors of terrorism remains crucial to ending the prolonged insecurity across the country. Commenting on the role of the Federal Government, Adeboye said he believes the President has discharged his responsibility by directing security agencies to confront the security threats.
However, he called for greater accountability from military commanders, urging that they be given a definite timeline to eliminate terrorism or relinquish their positions. He further disclosed that he had previously advised the President to issue a 90-day ultimatum to security chiefs to decisively tackle the menace while also pursuing those funding criminal activities.
The cleric appealed for stronger collaboration between Nigeria and the international community in addressing terrorism, insisting that defeating insecurity requires both local commitment and global support.
His remarks come amid growing concerns over the spread of kidnapping and violent attacks into parts of southern Nigeria, with renewed calls for decisive action against criminal networks and their financiers.
