American gospel singer and pastor Travis Greene has challenged pastors who, according to him, excuse sinful behaviour among their members because they have personally struggled with the same issues.
In a recent video, Greene addressed the danger of leaders becoming too lenient toward practices they should confront, particularly when the leader has also experienced or participated in similar struggles.
He argued that a pastor’s personal experience with a particular sin should not become a reason to tolerate it in the lives of those they lead.

Greene’s comments touched on situations involving sexual immorality, substance use and abortion, stressing that spiritual leadership requires the courage to confront wrongdoing rather than normalize it because the leader understands the struggle.
