Audiences flocked to Oxygen’s “Preachers of L.A.” on Wednesday night, making it one of the network’s biggest series premieres to date.
The unscripted series that chronicles the lives of six high-profile pastors living in Southern California, averaged 1.1 million viewers, including 529,000 adults 18-49 and 378,000 women 18-49, according to Nielsen, to become the net’s biggest Wednesday series launch yet.
And in women 25-54, it drew 426,000 — more than triple the network’s prior four-week average in the 10 p.m. timeslot — and ranks second among all Oxygen series premieres on record, behind only “Bad Girls All-Star Battle” earlier this year.

These numbers are all the more impressive given that the first episode was made available on VOD and Oxygen.com a week early, garnering more than 180,000 full-episode streams.
“Preachers” was also very big in social media Wednesday night, with #PreachersofLA trending in the U.S. on Twitter during its premiere. And according to SocialGuide, it was the second most social cable reality program of the night, behind only A&E megahit “Duck Dynasty.” – Varieties

The reality TV show revolves around the ministries and personal lives of six influential Christian pastors in Southern California namely Pastor Wayne Chaney, senior pastor of Antioch Church of Long Beach; Bishop Ron Gibson, pastor of Life Church Of God In Christ in Riverside; Deitrick Haddon, minister and contemporary gospel artist; Jay Haizlip, senior pastor of The Sanctuary in Orange County; Bishop Noel Jones, senior pastor of the City of Refuge Church in Gardena; and Bishop Clarence McClendon, senior pastor of Full Harvest International Church in Los Angeles.
